Co-Founder and President Emeritus
After nearly 35 years as co-founder and President of Citygate Associates, LLC, Mr. DeRoos transitioned to his current role as President Emeritus, and now serves as an advisor and in a legacy capacity to ensure Citygate continues to meet its industry-leading standards for culture and professionalism.
A former Deputy Director of the California Redevelopment Association, Mr. DeRoos earned his undergraduate degree in political science / public service (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of California, Davis, and he holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Southern California. Mr. DeRoos has over five years of operational experience as a local government administrator in land-use planning, budgeting, and personnel; and 40 years of consulting experience performing operations and management reviews of local government functions. Prior to joining Citygate in 1991, he was a Senior Manager in the State and Local government consulting division of Ernst & Young.
